    Customer Reviews

We did a lot of research on clock radios before settling on this one. The primary need was to be able to keep the display dim enough so as to not disturb my wife. This unit can be set to no display, and will only display for 15 seconds when you wave your hand over the top of the unit. Otherwise, it remains completely dark. Also, we needed a clock with two alarms and strongly favored clocks which set themselves. This unit fit the bill and also provided a projection feature we were not sure of in the beginning, but having used it at night, the feature is a useful added bonus.

This is just a clock radio. If you want an Ipod dock or even a CD player look elsewhere. But for what it is it's pretty nice. The display is very pretty with good size white numbers and a computer blue background. It has two brightness settings plus no display if you want that. You may choose no display as even the dim setting is pretty bright at night. It has a motion sensor where you just wave your hand over the radio to snooze. Kind of cool. Problem is my radio goes on a shelf with a cover about 8" above it and the radio kept beeping all the time thinking that the shelf cover was a hand. Finally had to put a piece of tape over the motion sensor to disable it. Oh well I can live without the motion sensor.
What does work great is the projector. The beam is movable so you can point it at the ceiling or a wall. Plus it has a focus wheel so you can adjust it for different distances. Very nice if you wake in the middle of the night, just glance at the ceiling for the time.
Biggest con for me is the analog radio tuner. Although the display is digital, tuning is done by a wheel, and it doesn't take much for it to get off station. A digital tuner would have been nice. Also the unit displays the room temperature but it displays in Celsius, I can't find a way to change it to Fahrenheit (even read the manual!). Having the room temperature is no big deal, but if they're going to have it they should have used Fahrenheit or made it switchable.
All in all a pretty nice clock radio that with a few improvements could be really cool. 4 stars
